MII China Joins OFDM Forum, Bolstering the Organization's International Presence

New membership additions to the OFDM Forum demonstrate the worldwide commitment to promote a single OFDM Standard

March 28, 2001 - The OFDM Forum, an association organized to promote a single worldwide standard for high-speed wireless communications, today announced MII China as its newest Government Agency member. 

The Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission of MII, China, the government agency responsible for overseeing and regulating China's telecommunications industry, has joined other world-recognized government agencies in the OFDM Forum, including Industry Canada and the Radiocommunications Agency, UK.

"We are very pleased to welcome the OFDM Forum's newest members," said Lee Warren, Chairperson of the OFDM Forum and Business Development Vice President for Wi-LAN Inc. "The addition of MII China gives the OFDM Forum a strong voice within China, and their involvement ensures that the specific technology requirements for China are addressed within the OFDM Forum."

In addition to MII China, the OFDM Forum added the following organizations to its already impressive membership roster:

  • INTRACOM S.A. - Associate Member
  • Navini Networks - Small Business Associate Member

These international members further demonstrate the wide reach of the OFDM Forum and the need for a single, global OFDM standard.

The OFDM Forum has grown to include 60 members to date, 15 of which are listed as Principal Members of the organization.
