New Partners Give Wi-LAN Coast-to-coast Coverage in Canada

Wi-LAN Inc. (TSE:WIN), an innovator in wireless data/Internet communications products and technology, today announced it has signed eight new Gold Certified Partners in Canada to its Channel Partner Program, strengthening the company's presence in the Canadian wireless marketplace to stimulate sales growth.
The new Gold Certified Partners are: Allcan Electronic Distributors (Canada); ComLink Systems (Canada); Glentel Inc. (Canada); Harris & Roome Supply Ltd. (Canada); Hutton Communications of Canada Inc.; (Canada); Keltech Communications Inc. (Canada); Sak Data Products Ltd. (Canada); and Time MCI (Canada).
Wi-LAN Gold Certified Partners, the top of level of participation in the Wi-LAN Channel Partner Program, primarily serve the private WAN market. Many also support the lucrative ISP, CLEC and ILEC markets.
"Gold Certified Partners are the cornerstone of Wi-LAN's Canadian distribution channel," said David Bocking, Wi-LAN's vice-president, Canadian Sales. "The addition of these new partners makes Wi-LAN wireless solutions available from coast to coast in Canada, a level of coverage designed to boost product sales."
The Wi-LAN Channel Partner Program provides all level of participants with the tools and information required to succeed in the wireless networking equipment and services market. The program enables resellers and partners to differentiate their business, gain higher levels of customer satisfaction, and increase market share and profitability.
Other levels in the Wi-LAN Channel Partner Program include Silver Certified Partner and Authorized Reseller.
Gold Certified Partners receive the most extensive program benefits offered to partners, specifically: a dedicated application engineer contact; priority technical support; and an opportunity to beta test new products. Additionally, Gold Certified Partners receive all benefits offered to Silver Certified Partners and Authorized Resellers.
Silver Certified Partner benefits include: ability to purchase products direct from Wi-LAN; a dedicated channel account manager; lead generation support; access to a joint marketing fund (for use on trade shows, seminars, advertising, or direct mail programs); and access to Wi-LAN's secured channel website.
The initial level, Wi-LAN Authorized Reseller, provides a solid starting point in selling Wi-LAN's wireless solutions providing partners with a Wi-LAN channel partner tool kit and the opportunity to attend Wi-LAN sales and technical training.
