Calgary, Alberta
May 25, 2000 Wi-LAN Inc. (TSE:WIN), an innovator of high-speed wireless data/Internet communications, today announced that the company will exhibit its products and technology at Canadian Wireless 2000, Canada's only telecommunications and IT trade show, in Toronto, Ontario from May 30 to 31, 2000. Wi-LAN's Vice President of Canadian Sales, Mr. David Bocking, will be making a presentation on the impact of broadband wireless access today and in the future during a session entitled "The Gigabit World" scheduled for 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30. Presented annually since 1975 by the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA), the Canadian Wireless 2000 show draws many of Canada's telecommunications and information technology buyers, allowing them to examine and evaluate competing products in a single location. The CWTA is the authority on wireless issues, developments and trends in Canada, representing cellular, PCS, paging, mobile radio, fixed wireless and mobile satellite carriers, as well as companies that develop and produce products and services for the industry. The conference draws over 6,000 registrants each year, with nearly 200 exhibitors.
"Attending shows in Canada such as Canadian Wireless 2000 is important for Wi-LAN, in terms of both gaining further exposure in Canada, and seeking out new business opportunities," says Bill Hews, Wi-LAN's President and COO. "Canadian Wireless 2000 is an excellent venue for Wi-LAN to demonstrate our broadband wireless access solutions to Canada's leading businesses and service providers."
